CREF Completes Potential Research Survey and Finalizes 2026 Research Selection

CREF is pleased to share that the potential research survey has officially closed and a final research project has been selected for 2026.

The survey provided valuable insight into current priorities and challenges facing the composting industry. Responses, rankings, and written feedback helped inform CREF’s evaluation process and ensured the selected project aligns with the practical needs of compost producers, end users, and stakeholders.

We sincerely thank everyone who took the time to participate. The feedback received through this survey supports CREF’s ongoing commitment to advancing research that is relevant, actionable, and impactful, research that strengthens compost use, supports industry professionals, and contributes to healthier soils and communities.

The selected research project will be officially announced at COMPOST2026. At that time, we will share additional details, next steps, and how the project will move forward with researchers and industry partners.
