Charles Duprey, Vice Chair

Charles Duprey is the founder and president of Naturcycle LLC, as well as a leading expert on compost marketing and end uses. Drawing from nearly two decades of personal experience and knowledge of the industry, his firm is focused on the sales and marketing of compost and engineered soils in the northeastern United States. Working with nearly a dozen private and municipal composters, Naturcycle provides material for landscapers, construction projects, and retail use throughout the region and operates three strategically located soil blending facilities.

Charles consults on the beneficial reuse of organics, engineered soil applications, and stormwater management projects all around the country. He has helped develop and supply some of the largest green roof and engineered soil projects in the Northeast. He also conducts professional development sessions on Compost Use in Green Infrastructure for members of the American Society of Landscape Architects as part of the association’s continuing education program.

Charles is currently the Vice Chair of the Compost Research & Education Foundations (CREF) Board of Trustees and previously served as the Vice Chair of the Market Development Committee of the United States Composting Council (USCC). He is also the Chair of the Seal of Testing Assurance Program Advisory Committee, which oversees the USCC’s nationwide compost testing and disclosure program. Charles has both a B.S. and a B.A. from Syracuse University and resides in Central New York.
