Across the country, passionate ICAW supporters help amplify composting awareness in their communities by working as volunteer coordinators, whether at the local, regional, or state level. Volunteer coordinators bring creativity, enthusiasm, and local insight to shape how ICAW is celebrated and shared.

What Do ICAW Volunteer Coordinators Do?

Coordinators shape their role in the way that works best locally. Some coordinators lead statewide efforts, while others focus on community-level outreach. Your role could involve:

  • Organizing events or activities in schools, parks, or at farmer’s markets
  • Promoting compost awareness with local government leaders
  • Partnering with community organizations or forming volunteer teams
  • Bringing your own ideas to life in a way that best fits your community’s needs

This program is open to volunteers in the U.S.; other countries have local ICAW coordinators.
