The California Compost Manufacturing: Principles & Practices (CM:PP) course consists of a two day Livestream course and an optional third day Facility Tour (self-driven) which is designed to expand or refresh your knowledge of the compost production process and begin your certification as a composting industry professional. The course is best suited for those who need an in-depth understanding of the composting process such as consultants, vendors, regulators, policy-makers, investors, environmental activists, sustainability professionals and recycling coordinators.

The California CM:PP offers the choice between two Facility Tours; located in Northern and Southern California. The NorCal and SoCal tours will provide examples of facilities which vary in size, accepted feedstocks, and processes. The stops will include equipment demonstrations of manufacturing equipment and ‘tools of the trade.’

The Tour locations are scheduled to include:

NorCal Tour
SoCal Tour
Republic Services - West County
Vision Recycling - Benecia Facility
Napa Recycling - Napa

San Pasqual Valley Soils - Escondido
El Corazon Compost - Oceanside
Evergreen Nursery - Oceanside
Mirimar Geenery - San Diego

The self-driven Facility Tour requires you wear closed toe shoes. Please bring your own Personal Protective Equipment if you have it. If you do not, we can provide a high visibility vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and ear protection. Tour attendees must also be prepared to follow any and all COVID-19 precautions such as mask wearing and social distancing; masks and hand sanitizer will be provided.

The Facility Tour will begin at promptly at 8:30am PDT so plan to arrive early for attendance. A detailed itinerary will be emailed approximately one-week prior to the event. The tour day is scheduled to end by 5:00pm PDT.

You can register for either the Livestream, the Tour or the Full CM:PP event. For those seeking certification through the USCC Certification program, you must register for the 3-Day combo to receive full credit.
